INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., (January 4, 2010) — Gary Lamie of West Point has been elected president of the Indiana Corn Growers Association (ICGA). Lamie, a Tippecanoe County farmer, was elected by the ICGA board at their board meeting in December.
Lamie represents corn growers in District IV, which includes 10 counties in west central Indiana. He is also active in the National Corn Growers Association as a member of the Public Policy Action Team.
Also elected were: Vice President, Herb Ringel of Wabash; and Secretary/Treasurer, Paul Russell of Eaton. Matt Gibson of Morocco serves as Chairman.
The ICGA board, which works to develop sound policies that protect and promote the interest of Indiana corn farmers, consists of nine farmer-directors representing districts across the state and seven at-large directors.
